Speedup ur PC

Speed up Your Loading Program
Tired of looking at the hourglass spin while you wait for your favorite programs to load? While many third party applications are on the market designed to speed up the loading of programs, there are a few do-it-yourself tips that you can perform first. First, let’s look at how to free up system resources before moving on to how to speed up individual program load times.

Free up System Resources

Speeding up program load times starts with freeing up system resources. After all, if your computer is using its limited resources on other processes, it won’t have power to spare for faster load times. Go into the system configuration utility and reconfigure your computer’s startup settings by performing the following steps:
1. Clicking Start > Run
2. Type in: msconfig
3. Click the OK button
4. Click the Startup ta
5. Disable unnecessary applications from automatically loading with Windows

By removing programs from your startup list, Windows will have more resources available for loading the programs that you want to use. You may need to research the programs before removing them from the list, especially if the file name doesn’t make much sense. Expand the column to show the program’s location on the hard drive and use that information as a starting point. For example, if you see a program that you don’t recognize and can see that it is located in your Microsoft Office folder, then you can be reasonably assured that the program is one of the Office applications. If you do not use the program every single day, remove it from startup. You can always launch it when you need it and save system resources for other tasks.
 Perform a Disk Cleanup

The Disk Cleanup wizard is a handy little tool that rids the hard drive of temporary files. Your computer needs free hard drive space, or “swap” space, for use as virtual memory. When your computer’s hard drive is near capacity, computer performance and program load times suffer dramatically because less space is available for the operating system. To use the Disk Cleanup wizard, follow these steps:

1. Click Start
2. Choose Programs (or All Programs)
3. Navigate to the Accessories folde
4. Click on System Tools
5. Click on Disk Cleanup

Before the Disk Cleanup dialog box appears, you’ll see a small box indicating that the wizard is looking for temporary files. Once the scan is complete, a categorized list will appear detailing how much disk space you can recover by removing certain groups of files. Select the files that you want to remove and confirm your choice by clicking OK. Use your discretion when cleaning. For example, if you know that you have files in the Recycle Bin that you think you may want to recover later, you’ll want to skip cleaning the Recycle Bin for now. Speeding up Individual Programs It is also sometimes possible to speed up load times for specific programs. For example, many e-mail clients grow sluggish over time. Compacting the database periodically can help with slow load times. The process varies depending on the application. As an example, to do this in Windows Live Mail, you would go to Tools > Options > Advanced > Maintenance. From there, click the checkbox next to “Compact the database on shutdown every (blank) runs.” Choose a number for how often to allow compacting and confirm your choice by clicking Close followed by OK. In general, if your program contains database components, look for a compact and repair option, usually under the tools menu, and run it periodically.
